One of the best things about boating in the Northwest during the summer are the myriad farmers markets along the way.
One of my favorite is in Ganges on Salt Spring Island in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia.
Ganges is the focal point of an island ripe with pubs, galleries, craft stores and restaurants. It’s a busy little bay and lots of fun. But it’s highlight is its open market. Every Saturday, March to October, the market is open from 8:30am-3:30pm.
It is a beautiful display of colors, scents and samples.
Dungeness, bread, wild lettuces, organic vegetable, flowers, candles and soap. Bring plenty of Canadian coin…and a large bag.
