For us, the last foal of the season was born this week. He is a beautiful bay colt with the lovely head and eye that typifies him as an Arabian horse. Gainey Arabians has had a long hand in the history of this colt. We bred his mother, his father, his father’s mother, and his grand-parents–five generations in all.
Breeding animals is the closest thing to divine creation I can think of. It’s thrilling to see the result of deliberately pairing too creatures, especially when that result is outstanding.

Now, the fun of watching him grow. A new waiting game begins.
