I have had the honor of serving as a trustee on the board of Pacific Northwest Ballet for some years now. The most gratifying experience has been to build personal relationships with many of the incredible dancers. PNB is one of the top two or three companies in the country and renowned for it’s beautiful, highly technically skilled dancers.
Best of all, it has an active program in place for supporting dancers as they transition out of ballet and into the “real” world upon retirement. One of the greatest things to come from the retirement of some of the top dancers at PNB is the Seattle Dance Project. It is providing a wonderful venue for further expression in dance. If you are in Seattle, see it sometime. If not, watch this:

Choreographer, Maureen Whiting, is presenting another show at the ACT theatre in Seattle in March. It is the first time the ACT has consented to an outside production and promises to a terrific work. See it if you can.
