You may wonder about the secret, or not-so-secret, motivations that drive writers.
Personally, I always thought most of it lay in validation: for one’s story-telling skills, if not for all the self-inflicted pain that most authors suffer at the cold, callous, invisible grip of the keyboard.
However, having read the quote below, I may rethink.
